Terms of Service

Service Description

Perpendo is a cloud-hosted AI chat platform operated by CareerLinc Inc. Users bring their own API keys (BYOK) to connect to third-party AI providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and others.

  • CareerLinc Inc. does not provide AI model access — users maintain their own relationships with AI providers.
  • The service provides the interface, conversation management, and related tools.

Account Terms

  • You must be 18 years or older to use Perpendo.
  • One person per account. Credential sharing is not permitted.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

API Keys & Third-Party Services

  • You provide your own API keys at your own risk.
  • CareerLinc Inc. never stores API keys in plaintext — all keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a user-set passphrase.
  • CareerLinc Inc. is not responsible for charges incurred through third-party AI providers.
  • You must comply with each AI provider’s terms of service and acceptable use policies.

User Data

  • You retain ownership of all content you create (conversations, prompts, agents, etc.).
  • CareerLinc Inc. does not use user content for training AI models.
  • CareerLinc Inc. does not sell user data to third parties.
  • You can export your data at any time via the export feature.
  • You can delete your account and all associated data.

Payment & Billing

  • A free tier is available with no credit card required.
  • Paid plans (Plus, Pro) are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.
  • Annual plan: 14-day money-back guarantee from date of purchase.
  • Monthly plan: cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the billing period.
  • No refunds for partial months.

Self-Hosted License

The following terms apply to users who purchase the Perpendo Self-Hosted license.

  • The license grants the right to run the compiled Perpendo binary on up to 3 machines owned or controlled by the licensee.
  • The license is perpetual (lifetime) and non-transferable.
  • You may not redistribute, decompile, reverse-engineer, or share the binary with third parties.
  • “Lifetime updates” means access to new versions of the self-hosted product for the life of the product.
  • CareerLinc Inc. reserves the right to discontinue the self-hosted product with 12 months notice to existing licensees.
  • Refund policy: 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase.
  • Self-hosted users are responsible for their own data backups, security, and infrastructure.
  • The license requires periodic internet access for validation. There is a 7-day offline grace period between validation checks.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the service.
  • Resell access to the service without written permission.

CareerLinc Inc. reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimers

  • The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.
  • CareerLinc Inc. is not responsible for the accuracy, quality, or content of AI model responses.
  • CareerLinc Inc. is not liable for any damages arising from use of the service or third-party AI providers.
  • Uptime is not guaranteed, though we strive for high availability.

Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated with notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States.
